9-11 更新しました。前版:
A “kusudama” is a large decorated paper ball used to mark festive occasions such as opening ceremonies. People pull a string which releases confetti and a banner from within the ball. I created this kusudama for an exhibition and installed it in a space with a very high ceiling. Having kept it intact throughout the exhibition run, I did not pull the string until after the exhibition closed. Left hanging from the ceiling during the show, it was like an unexploded shell whose reason or purpose was like a stillborn. \\

I made a 'KUSUDAMA' which is a big decorated paper ball (for festive occasions).\\
I took it for my works for 'Fix',in order to hang it from the ceiling for an exhibition in which there was a high ceiling.\\
The paper ball is a typical item for an opening ceremony. Celebrating the opening by people pulling a string, confetti and a banner that had been installed in the ball, fall down.\\
I pulled the string after the exhibition had finished, not the opening ceremony.\\
The ball is divided into two parts by the pulling the string. The ball almost looks like it has turned over, being hung form the ceiling, but it is still fixed on the ceiling. \\

Normally, this ball is opened by pulling a string which hangs inside the ball. \\
I put the ball on the ceiling of the exhibition space. It almost celebrates the exhibition's opening. \\
\\
I kept the ball in place (not opened) on the ceiling until the exhibition finished. \\
I treat the ball as if it's an unexploded shell.\\

Fix is a series of works that demonstrate the fundamental need for ‘expressions’ to operate within a coded system that people gain fluency in or comprehension of through repeated exposure to it. Even as these systems might be abstract or intangible, they have proscribed ‘spaces’—framed within virtual domains or sites. These frames support ‘threads’ of thinking, cognition, and analysis. As such, expressions are comprehensible because of elements, referents, or guideposts that are fixed. This series is an attempt to explore various constructions of ‘fixing.’

50-66 更新しました。前版:
'Expression' is fundamentally for passing on a personal message. It is an artificial event in everyday life, against neutral days. In order to make people recognize the 'expression' that needs stability. It is not only physically but also conceptually, otherwise, it would be categorized a natural phenomena. \\
The meaning (the concept) needs to be replayed again and again for people (audience). \\
\\
In order to make people recognize the 'expression', which is ultimately aimed at people, it takes a long period of time. \\
\\
The 'expression' that I would like to categorize in this context, is 'disobey'. \\
\\
As if the 'expression' suggests a virtual domain or a real site, as if the 'expression' wants to be an invisible layer, it needs a frame as an analogy of 'space'. The 'frame' is a thread of thinking, it means the way of recognition, the system of thinking of human beings. \\
\\
In short, the expression has to be FIXED on the real world; it should stay with us. This context's of FIX contains also fixing on the any media, not only real space, but also digital media, etc. \\

I have been thinking about the way of FIX, the system of fixing fundamentally. What I made was a series of style for fundamental construction for Fixing. \\
\\
I found that the BODY of the 'expression' has to have holes physically or analogically in it.
The 'expression' itself should contain or become a tool of putting or connecting the space. \\
The holes are used as a function to tie up other parts. But tied up, the 'expression' becomes a part of the space, part of the background of the 'expression'.\\
