I believe that all animate and inanimate objects are subject to the limitations of their intended functions. The drawing tool has a predetermined function and my will to use it is also predetermined. The tool’s function and my decision to use the tool as its function dictates presuppose each other. Drawing the patterns with the Spirgraph, I present them as evidences of the collaboration of the ‘will’ of the inanimate object with my will.
