I set up a bicycle in an exhibition room where spinning, rotating, and revolving functions can be displayed. The bicycle I place in this room is one whose wheels I have rolled outdoors in the dirt. I then roll the wheels of this bicycle on the floor of the exhibition space. The soil attached to the wheels from outside is now transferred to the floor indoors. In this work, the rolling of the wheels is repeated and the tracked dirt evidences the echoed movement from the outdoor to the indoor space. The wheel axle rotates by human-powered action. The room in which the bicycle is placed is also rotating—albeit infinitesimally—as the planet rotates on its axis. I am a rotator; the bicycle is a rotator; and the earth is a rotator.

I try to create an invisible-active zone by setting up 'a bicycle' in an exhibition room. The room I need to use must be able to display elements of spinning, rotating, revolving functions and also reversible power. It is just an arrangement, a placement for thinking of 'a fundamental truth' model of our 'space'.

Taking a bicycle, I roll the wheels on the ground, on the soil. The soil attaches on the surface of the tires. I bring the bicycle into the room, and roll the wheels. On the surface of the floor, the attached soil marks a track from the tires; the soil is moved from the tires to the floor. This is the moment of the rolling movement turned over; the reverse. Thus, the rolling movement of the wheels is cohesive to the floor, which is placed on a parallel layer with the ground and with the grooved surface. The wheels are touching, standing parallel, and they are rolling, spinning, rotating and revolving. When the trace appeared, their movement transferred onto our standing ground.

In this works, the movement I take up is a 'common denominator' among the 'space'. The wheel axle rotates by human-powered action, and its own mechanism. The room in which the bicycle is placed is also rotating as it's placed on the earth, which is also rotating in our 'space', and the globe is revolving as a planet as a natural movement. I rotate the wheels on the ground- human-powered action-which is synchronized to natural, universal movement.. The soil is attached on the wheels, and they rotate together. I am a rotator, the bicycle is a rotator, and the earth is a rotator. They are placed on a revolving planet, being parallel and being reversed.

The above associations become my 'works'.
