SCRIPT/Penmanship(1999~ )
I have only one name but this name has been rendered differently by different people. This work is a collection of ‘my names’ cut out from the addressed sides of letters, envelops, postcards, and parcels I have received through the postal service. What is visible in the characters that spell out my name has only one meaning and purpose: they all identify me. But the writing variations depend not only on the different handwriting patterns but also on the different individuals’ personalities and relationships to me. If my name serves as a ‘code’ that refers to me, this code—written in multiple ways—also refers to the others.
